Vidhya Vijayakumar is an Indian film actress who predominantly acts in Malayalam film industry. She started her career as a model and now she pursuing her dream to become a film actress. Karikku fame Vidhya started as a junior artist in the Telugu movie Janatha Garage, which was released in 2016. After that she got many chances in different south Indian languages. Actress Vidhya Profile and Career

Vidhya Vijayakumar was born and brought up in Ottappalam, Thrissur district, Kerala. She has a family with no film background, so her dream to became an actress was not an easy one.  Vidhya is a trained classical dancer and singer too. She is very interested in extra curricular activities like dance, drama and singing during her school time. Vidhya appeared in an audition for a Malayalam Television serial without knowing her parents on her tenth standard, she got selected that audition but her parents didn't let her to act. 

Vidhya completed her graduation faraway from home why because she wanted to attend the film auditions without the restrictions of her parents. She had attended lot of auditions during her college days. After post graduation in Journalism, she got a job after in Infopark (Kochi) as a public relations officer. Vidhya left her job in Infopark in order to conquer her dream, during this time Vidhya started anchoring in Surya TV, then Modelling, Interviewer, Video jockey etc. She participated in many beauty pageant also acted in many short films. 

Vidhya was the runner up of 18th Miss South India, beauty pageant held in January 2020. 23 women participated in the competition, she looks very confident during the contest since she prepared well for it. Vidhya appeared for the same contest in 2018, but did not passed in the audition. Then she worked hard for the contest and placed on first  Runner up in 2020.

Acting Career

Vidhya Vijayakumar started her acting career as a Junior artist in Janatha Garage (Telugu) movie, which  was released in 2016, directed by Koratala Siva. Her debut Malayalam film was Sunday Holiday, which was released in 2017.The film was written & directed by Jis Joy and it features Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali are in the lead roles. In this film Vidhya presented the character name Amitha, love intrest of Dharmajan. Amitha was a Small character in that movie, but she did it well as a beginner.

She earned the fame among Malayalam audience through the web series of Karikku. She acted in Girls Bad Boys, PK and Rock Paper Scissors. All these series has millions of viewers and became popular among Malayali audience like other Karikku actors.

Then she appeared in the Malayalam movie Kaly (2018), directed by Najeem Koya. It features Shebin Benson, Shalu Rahim, Indian Pallassery are in the lead roles. In which Vidhya presented one of the notable character opposite Shalu Rahim, but the movie could not make a big success in Mollywood.

In 2019, Vidhya's Telugu movie Nivaasi released, which directed by Satheesh Ragalla. Shekhar Varma and Viviya Santh were in lead roles. Vidhya Vijay handled a prominent role in Nivaasi and she did a great performance with in her limit. Unfortunately this movie did not make a big impact on the industry.  In the same year she appeared in a Malayalam movie - Safe, it is a crime thriller movie directed by Pradeep Kalipurayath. The film features Siju Wilson, Anusree, Aparna Gopinath are in the lead roles. In which she handled the character Fiona Philp, another notable character of vidhya.

She is a theatre artist too and now pursuing her dream to become a popular film actress. Bon Voyage was her first theatre venture, directed by PR Arun. It has a one  month practice session, which nailed her acting skill. 

In 2020, Vidhya has lot of films in her bag, Iru and Ahaa are two of them. She is the second heroine in Iru movie, directed by Fr. Varghes Lal. In which she handles the character opposite to Daine Davis. She also have a prominent role in Bibin Paul Samuel"s movie Ahaa. Vidhya is a promising actress to southern film industry.
